Most of the month of September I was in China. It was a very interesting time full of different experiences. I did not travel very well and managed to come down with a tummy bug that lasted for 3 days and then a few days to recover.
Then the msg (both synthetic and naturally occurring certainly was difficult to deal with)!
Tai Chi in Bei Dai He was excellent and we were really honoured to be ‘received’ into the family. There were many unique moments and doing Tai Chi with people from all around the world was one of them..
Here is a little montage of photos from the trip.
Two masters, One Champion and one Future Champion.
Pre Wedding Photos
Whilst we were there we were witness to a very interesting cultural practice – pre-wedding photos. We had a room that overlooked the board walk and several times a day would look out the window to see people sitting, standing or squatting on the board walk. They were dressed in finery – which we eventually decoded as wedding garb. The curious thing was the girls would lift their long trailing skirts and reveal jeans and sneakers underneath!
When we walked on the beach we saw all these peculiar props. One stroll we saw what they were for – they were the props for these pre-wedding photos. We did think that there were a great deal of people getting married and there did not seem to be that many people in the wedding party.
